There are three kinds of righteous mentioned in the Word of God, but only one applies to us today. What does the Bible say?

With so many churches in today's religious world, which one is the church of the Bible. The New Testament only mentions one church, so...which church is it? What does the Bible say?

In Hebrews 2:1, we find this -- "Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things that were heard, lest haply we drift away from them." That's a very important passage for those who claim to be members of the Lord's church. What exactly does it mean? What does the Bible say?

In Psalm 66:6-7, David wrote, "Oh that I had wings like a dove! Then I would fly away, and be at rest. Lo, then I would wander far off, and remain in the wilderness." Even though we're not told told the circumstances under which David wrote these words, it might not be too difficult for us to imagine, and then apply the lessons to our own lives.

What would you say if someone told you there were mistakes in the Bible? We're not referring to mistakes in the different versions and various modern translations. We're talking bailout mistakes in the Bible itself. Well, there ARE mistakes in the Bible...and we'll examine some of them in today's episode.

Since Christ is the only Savior, His way is the only way, His church is the only church, and His plan is the only plan, it is wise for us to consider the what, the who, the where, and the why, when it comes to our salvation. What does the Bible say?

A lot of people believe what they do religiously because of what their preacher has told them. Certainly, there a preachers who preach the truth, but many others will just preach some truth, while taking from and adding to the scriptures to fit their own beliefs or doctrines. I call it, "Preacher Hoodooism," which is also the title of today's episode.

From the Old Testament through the New, God tells us that Judgment Day is coming. Eccl. 12:14 warns that He “shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.” Hebrews 9:27 says “it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.” And those are only some of the passages in the Bible that tell us about a day that will be wonderful for those who are ready for it, and an awful and terrible day for those who aren’t. What will happen and what will it be like? What does the Bible say?

Have you ever thought about the difference in the way preaching was done years ago and how much of it is done that way today? So many people today say they just want positive preaching...and quite a few preachers give them exactly what they want to hear. But is that how God wants it? What does the Bible say?

There’s a popular saying that goes, “Sitting in a church pew doesn’t make you a Christian any more than sitting in a garage makes you a car.” That’s very true. But skipping church services doesn’t make you a good Christian, either. And yet, more and more people are attending less and less. Oh, they might come to worship on Sunday morning, but see no importance in attending Sunday and Wednesday nights. What about that? Is attendance at worship services necessary? What does the Bible say?

In the great commission, Jesus said, "Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel." In carrying out this commission, Paul said, "Woe is unto me if I preach not the gospel." To the church in Galatia, he said that if an angel should preach any other gospel, he would be accursed. He also stated that the gospel is God's power unto salvation to all who believe it. So, with these guides to direct us and prohibitions to protect us, Christians will earnestly contend that the gospel is God's only saving power, that nothing but the gospel must be preached, and that there is no hope for anyone doesn't obey the gospel. But there seems to be trouble with that word, "Go," in Mark 16:15. There's seems to be a lot of zeal for what Jesus commanded...but sometimes, I'm afraid we have trouble with that word, "Go." But, isn't it just as important as being baptized? What does the Bible say?

When it comes to religion, are we justified in using any means to achieve a goal, provided that we believe the end result will be good?  Does the end justify the means? What do the Scriptures teach about obedience to Bible authority and how it relates when it comes to worship and the work of the church? That's the topic of today's episode.

How many different types of churches are there in the world? Or maybe I should put it this way -- how many kinds of churches that claim to practice Christianity exist on earth? The correct answer is a difficult one, because some people say that we have over 30-thousand different denominations around the world, while other sources tell us that the actual number is a little under 2-thousand. Regardless of these numbers, people never seem to understand the fact that, according to the Bible, Jesus only built one church...and, for some reason, those in the religious world just can't seem to get their head around that. So, for today's episode, I want us to take a look at, "The Church That Jesus Built."

From the beginning, the church of Christ has held out to the world that the Bible is our only guide. The apostle Peter, the man who first preached the gospel on the day of Pentecost, said, "If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God." Alexander Campbell said, "We speak where the Bible speaks, and are silent where the Bible is silent." And so, it is very important that we know how to study the Bible, so that we can understand it in order for it to guide us from earth to heaven. And that's the topic of today's episode -- "The Bible, Our Only Guide."

One of my favorite passages in the Bible is Second Timothy 4, 1-8, where, in verse 2, the apostle Paul tells young Timothy to "preach the word; be instant in season out of season: reprove, rebuke, exhort, with all long-suffering and doctrine." A whole sermon could be preached on the entire passage…but for today, I want us to focus on Paul's charge to "be instant, in season, out of season." What does that mean exactly? What does the Bible say?

Many years ago, the Jews were departing so far from God and following their own ways, that Jehovah called upon them to stand in the ways and see and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and they should find rest in their souls. But they said, "We will not walk therein." But, you know, there may have never been a time when people needed to seek the old paths and walk in the true way marked out by the Lord more than today. And that's the topic of this episode: "The Only Safe Way."

We hear a lot today about "Holy Ghost Baptism," especially in some of the denominations. It gets attention in a lot of revivals (especially those who feature the practice of what some people call, "speaking in tongues")...and you'll hear some preachers calling for it. So, I thought we might spend some time in this episode discovering what God's Word says about "Holy Ghost Baptism," if it's possible to experience it today, and how it compares with water baptism, as it's commanded in the Bible.

The Bible is filled with figures, parables, and object lessons to help us understand what God has promised to do for us, if we do what He says. A lot of religious people today simply don’t understand God’splan of salvation and have come up with their own ideas as to what we need to do to be saved from sin. So, for today’s episode, I want us to think about how oursalvation is parallel with, or similar to the salvation of Israel from Egyptian bondage, back during Old Testament times. You know, the apostle Paul said, in Romans 15, verse 4, “For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning” -- and I believe the topic of today’s lesson fits that statement perfectly.

There may be no greater question that anyone could be asked than, “Why aren’t you a Christian?” And it’s a question that doesn’t come up just once in our lifetime -- it comes to us in every way and at every turn...and it never loses any of its importance. In Acts 26:28, King Agrippa told the apostle Paul, “Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian.” You know, a lot of people today say the same thing...and the same question remains for you or those we love -- “Why are you not a Christian?”

There's an expression that says, "We can't all see alike." But, when it comes to the Bible, nothing could be further from the truth. In fact, when it comes to religion, God commands us to all see (or believe) alike. How is that possible? What does the Bible say?

Have you ever been in a conversation with someone and shared with them that you’re a member of the church of Christ, and had them say something like, “Oh, I’ve heard about that church. You people believe some strange things.” Or if you’re NOT a member, maybe you’ve heard the same from others. Is it true? Are there some strange things about the church of Christ? What does the Bible say?

In the second chapter of Hebrews, beginning with the first verse, we read: “Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip. For if the word spoken by angels is steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense of reward; How shall we escape so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him.” What does the Hebrews writer exactly mean when he mentions a “great salvation?”

Have you ever thought about God having a hand...or any other human body part, for that matter? The scriptures tell us He does. But how can that be and what does it mean? What does the Bible say?

In Acts 20:31, we find the apostle Paul exhorting the elders of the first-century church to “watch.” And if it was necessary for Christians to watch back then, it is just as essential for members of the Lord’s body to watch today. But, the question is: for who or what should we watch? What does the Bible say?

Most people who claim to follow the Christian religion are familiar with the word, “gospel”. It’s referred to many times within the pages of the New Testament...but some people follow what we might call an “Unwritten Gospel.” What does that mean? What does the Bible say?
