Have you ever been in a conversation with someone and shared with them that you’re a member of the church of Christ, and had them say something like, “Oh, I’ve heard about that church. You people believe some strange things.” Or if you’re NOT a member, maybe you’ve heard the same from others. Is it true? Are there some strange things about the church of Christ? In the second chapter of Hebrews, beginning with the first verse, we read: “Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip. For if the word spoken by angels is steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense of reward; How shall we escape so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him.” What does the Hebrews writer exactly mean when he mentions a “great salvation?”

In Acts 20:31, we find the apostle Paul exhorting the elders of the first-century church to “watch.” And if it was necessary for Christians to watch back then, it is just as essential for members of the Lord’s body to watch today. But, the question is: for who or what should we watch? What does the Bible say?
